Getting Started with Wessential

Our course is designed for students starting from ages of 13, all the way through senior year of high school. Schedule a Free Consultation Session in Wessential’s Learner Portal to chat with us about the right time to enroll!

Typically, the recommended starting age is 13 years old and with basic math knowledge (Algebra I, II). If your student is under 13, please reach out to us for detailed enrollment requirements.

To ensure our students' success, we require that students commit to at least one class with Wessential per week. Our classes are 50 minutes long and will also include approximately one to two hours of homework each week. Our instructors can always modify the homework load depending on parents and student’s feedback.

Wessential Curriculum & Student Experience

The Wessential Learning Platform can be found at You will need to create an account in order to schedule Consultation. After you create your account, your family can login to your account anytime!

Yes! After they complete the program with Wessential, our students receive a certificate of completion recognizing their achievement. The certificate will be sent to your email upon completion.

The Personal Finance Lab provides a world-class, web-based stock simulation platform. Their stock market game is derived from Stock-Trak’s University Platform, which is used in over 80% of the top business schools in the US and Wharton Global High School Investment Competition. It can help practice students’ information gathering, analytical, and money management skills.

Once your enrollment is completed, our team carefully pairs every student with their recurring instructor, using a number of factors such as age, learning style, previous experience, and scheduling availability. If you don’t love learning with your instructor after a few classes, we’ll work as a team to help improve your experience.

Our students typically work with their recurring instructor for the whole program, taking into account availability of both the student and instructor.

To ensure communication efficiency and instructor privacy, we ask that you communicate with your instructor in one of two ways:

  • If you would prefer to speak to your student’s instructor directly, please email their Wessential email. 
  • If you would prefer to speak to a member of Wessential Support directly, please email with any questions or feedback, and our team will be more than happy to help.

In general, we are happy to ask your instructor to write a letter of recommendation in support of the student and share their experience working with the student, whether it's for summer camp or school admissions. While we cannot guarantee your instructor will be able to write the letter, we are always happy to ask.

For any request, please email with all information provided by the institution, including deadlines, our team will convey your request to the instructor.

Investing & Cryptocurrency:

We offer a full Investing program for age of 13+. Each program typically takes 4 to 6 months to complete, depending on the student's pacing through the material, dedication to homework, their previous Investing knowledge, and the difficulty of course material. 

Scheduling & Attendance

If we don't see your student join class within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, a member of our Support Team will reach out via text message or phone calls to check in and help troubleshoot any issues.

If we do not hear back from you, your instructor will wait online for 20 minutes after the scheduled start time before signing off and marking the class as missed. 

If you know ahead of time that you’ll be running late for class, feel free to email us at or text/call (202)-980-8999 or (650)-719-8999, so that we can notify the instructor to continue waiting online for your student.

Our students meet with their instructor at a recurring time each week, like Mondays at 6 pm Pacific Time. We offer rolling enrollment throughout the entire year.

Each class is 50 minutes long. After the end of each class, your instructor will write the session feedback for the class, which will be emailed to you & is available in the Wessential Learner Portal.

In the case that you need to reschedule a class, classes can be rescheduled 24+ hours in advance with no additional charge, by emailing

If a class is not rescheduled in time, it is considered missed and will not be eligible for a makeup class or a refund. We do make exceptions to this policy in case of family emergencies or illness. Please contact and our team will be more than happy to help!

If you need to permanently change your weekly recurring class time, please contact, and we will work with you and your instructor to find a time to reschedule all future classes.

If your Instructor is not available at any time that works for your family, we will facilitate a transition for a new instructor to work with your student.

Please include the following information in your email:

  • New time(s) (i.e. day of week, time, and timezone) that work best for your family
  • Date you would like this change to be effective

Typically, we can provide the best support with 1-2 weeks of advance notice so that we can work with the instructor to adjust their schedule as needed.

Makeup classes are added to your account in the case of student illness, family emergency, or other situations where your student is allowed to make up a class session with us.

You can schedule your makeup classes by email with your availability for the makeup classes.

In the case of an instructor emergency, our team will reach out to you as soon as possible and discuss rescheduling options.

Technical Troubleshooting

If your student is having internet connectivity issues in class:

  1. Have your student check their internet speed on
  2. If the speed is less than 10 Mbps, move to a different location or switch networks. We ask that instructors and students prepare themselves for class by making sure their internet speed is 10+ Mbps.
  3. If the internet speed is greater than 10 Mbps, then the student can try: using a different browser, rejoining the Teams meeting, and restarting their computer.

We expect students to join class with a Mac or PC computer with a strong internet connection (10+ Mbps), with their Wessential Learning Platform and the Teams application set up.


We offer full refund within two weeks from your first class. Simply go to "Pay Order" tab in your Wessential Learner Portal, and click  "refund".

To refer a new student, please go to the student portal dashboard to generate your unique referral link to share with your friends and family.

For each new student that you refer who enrolls in our program, the new student will receive a $25 credit and you will receive a $25 credit (gift cards at your preferred store).
